Grocery Stores

Tonight we went to three grocery stores for something that should have only required one trip

1) Queens Quay Loblaws
We thought, we'll be quick, no need to go to no frills. Well that dream ended quickly when they had nothing in stock. No tortilla chips, no PC low sodium V8 and in general the shelves were bare. It seemed like everything that was a decent price was not there.

It was too late to go to No Frills so we thought, we'll go to the Price Chopper on Lakeshore.

2) Lakeshore Loblaw's
Being glass half full type of people (or equivalently shelves are half full) when we see a Loblaw's across from the Chopper we decide to give it chance. It was a bigger store so that just meant more empty shelf space.

We're now shelf half empty people so

3) Price Chopper
We head to the price chopper. My first trip to one and it appears they didn't cut all the way through. Reasonably stocked shelfs and we got what we wanted. But with overly inflated prices a return visit is unlikely. The whole environment wasn't very good either so that pretty much seals it.

Summary
As everyone has been saying Loblaws seems to be in trouble. We never really have supply issues at No Frills though so I'm not sure what the problem was at Loblaw's. You'd think they would try to ensure sufficient stock at their namesake stores but apparently they're letting that slide to ensure they get trounced by Walmart. Depressing
